Michael O'Mara,
Michael Francis O'Mara,
bapt 30 Sept 1846, Limerick.
He and his family emigrated to North America.
His father settled in London, Ontario.

He is described in letter of 28 Nov 1868 as working in "a commercial store".
Moved to Illinois July 1870.
Letter of Oct 1871 says he is in Illinois for the past 15 months.
He is described in letter of 1872 as then in St.Louis, Missouri, working for Ohio and Mississippi Railway.
Still in St.Louis as at letter of winter 1874-75 or earlier.
Came back to London, Ontario.
[1874/1875 directory of London] lists him as living with brother John at 69 Dundas St, London, where they run "O'Mara Bros, Pork Packers".
[1877/1878 directory] and [1878/1879 directory] list him at 69 Dundas St. Listed as "labourer" and "clerk".

He and John took over father's business in London, Ontario.
[Goodspeed, 1889] says he and brother John continued their father's business in London, Ontario, after father died 1878.
He is at home with mother and siblings in 1881 census. He is "pork packer".
John died 1885.
[1887 directory of London] lists Michael as General provision dealer, business at 69 Dundas St (also residence of his mother and sisters) and 1 Market Bazaar. His own residence at 522 Talbot St.
Michael is profiled in [Goodspeed, 1889]. Then a "pork and provision dealer", living in London. The business was on Dundas St and in the "Market Bazaar".
He is at home with mother and siblings in 1891 census. He is "pork packer".
He is listed in 1901 census at London, Ontario, running family business. He is "pro[visions] merchant". Unmarried sisters living with him.
[1910/1911 Directory for London] lists Michael F. O'Mara, Provisions, 69 Dundas St, London (also residence).
He is listed in 1911 census at 69 Dundas St, London, Ontario. From here. Unmarried sisters living with him.
[1918 Directory of London] lists Michael F. O'Mara, Provisions, 69 Dundas St.

He died unmarried, April 17, 1918, London, Ontario, age 71 yrs.
He was bur St Peter's RC Cemetery, London, Ontario.
Inscription: "In Memory of Michael F. O'Mara, died April 17, 1918 age 59 yrs."
