Simon Luttrell, of Luttrellstown, born 1600,
had issue:
Thomas Luttrell, had issue:
- Col Simon Luttrell,
loyal to King James,
Governor of Dublin under him.
- Col Henry Luttrell,
officer in army of King James,
deserted him for William,
murdered by a mob in Dublin, 1717,
bur Clonsilla Church,
having had issue:
- Simon Luttrell, 1st Earl of Carhampton
(see here),
had issue:
- Henry Luttrell, 2nd Earl of Carhampton,
active in suppressing the
1798 Rising,
which increased the hostility toward the family in Ireland
dating from his grandfather's betrayal,
around this time the grave of his grandfather in Clonsilla was violated
and his skull broken to pieces with a pickaxe,
sold Luttrellstown c.1800 to
Luke White
(see ANNALY
in [Burkes Peerage]),
who remodelled the castle, and changed its name to Woodlands.
