It is thought these are related to these Spains.

Patrick Spain,
of Co.Tipperary.
He mar Mary ----.
There is a Patrick Spain who married a Mary Cusack on 16 Jan 1836, at Toomevara, near Nenagh, Co.Tipperary, but this cannot be them if son born 1816.
They are listed at son's marriage in 1859.
They had issue:

Pat, born 1816.
He was a merchant in Dublin.
Listed in [Thom's, 1847] at 25 Merchant's Quay, Dublin.
He mar 2 Feb 1859 to Margaret Colclough [born 1834, Dublin].
She is possible descendant of Edward III if (but seems unlikely) she descends from Colclough of Tintern Abbey.
Patrick and Margaret were living 5 Adelaide St, Kingstown (Dun Laoghaire), Co.Dublin, at son's birth 1865.
Patrick died Dublin, 19 Aug 1878, age 62 [burial record],[grave],[death cert].

Funeral 21 Aug 1878, bur Glasnevin Cemetery.
"Thomas Colclough" appears as informant in burial record.
Margaret is listed in 1901 census as living Windsor Rd, Rathmines.
She died Windsor Rd, Dec 1902, age 68 yrs.
Death cert and grave say died 21 Dec, but this must be inaccurate since funeral report on Thur 25 Dec says buried last "Wednesday week". If buried Wed 24 Dec it would say "yesterday". So funeral must be Wed 17 Dec.

   Alexander Patrick Spain, born 18 May 1865, 5 Adelaide St, Kingstown (Dun Laoghaire), Co.Dublin.

   He worked for National Bank.
   He was sent to Cashel, Co.Tipperary.
   [Bassett's, 1889] lists him as bank teller, National Bank, Main St, Cashel, Co.Tipperary.
   
   He mar 1890, Booterstown, Co.Dublin, to Ellen Mullins [Ellie, born 1859, Cashel, Co.Tipperary].
   She was dau of John Mullins [born 1817, merchant] by his wife Ellen [born 1819].
   (todo) Find bapt. Her mother was possibly surname Cashel.
   Her family ran Mullins' shop, 21 Main St, Cashel (now Davern's, see street view).
   Her mother died 1878 at the house on Main St.

   Alexander and Ellen lived for some years at Main Street, Cashel.
   Her father John Mullins died in 1894 at his house on Main St.
   Alexander is listed as cashier in National Bank at son's birth 1897.
   They are listed in 1901 census as living Main St, Cashel. He is "bank cashier". Her brother William Mullins is listed at the Mullins business on Main St.
   Alexander moved back to Dublin.
   They lived 3 Belgrave Square East, Monkstown, Co.Dublin.
   They are listed in 1911 census as living Belgrave Square East. He is "Assistant Inspector, National Bank".
   He died Dublin, 13 Jan 1939, age 73 yrs. He was bur Glasnevin Cemetery.

   Ellen died Dublin, 31 Oct 1951, age 92. She was bur Glasnevin Cemetery.

      born 22 Sept 1897 [GROI], Main St, Cashel, Co.Tipperary, possibly 21 Sept, NOT 1898.

      This line is DNA proven because Malachi Spain closely DNA matches various people who descend from Mullins.
