mar Delia McGough [born 1869, of Tuam, Co.Galway, dau of --- McGough, by his wife Mary Anne Jenners],
see entry in [Census, 1911], they are living 3 University Road, Galway, he is listed as "land agent's assistant",
he died 20th Oct 1932, age 61 yrs [mass card],
had issue:


  1. Dick Lavelle,
    Dr. Richard Joseph Lavelle, born 29th Jan 1894,
    educ UCG (Medicine), met Pat when both at UCG,
    in War of Independence, Nov 1920, he met Dick McKee, Commandant of the Dublin Brigade IRA, McKee asked him if he knew anywhere a load of explosives could be hidden, Steen arranged that they could be hidden in stables of O'Mara house in Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin, but a few days later McKee was arrested and shot without trial (21st Nov 1920) in the reprisals on Bloody Sunday,
    no one collected the explosives, and they survived a British search, they were not found until one morning Feb 1922, long after Pat's father returned from the US, he was furious,

    didn't get married until he got his first job 1924,
    mar 2nd Jan 1924 to Patricia O'Mara [Pat, born 23rd July 1898],
    his first job, 1924-6, dispensary doctor, Ballyhaise, Co.Cavan,
    from 1926 to 1934/5 he was doctor in Letterfrack, Ballynakill par, NW Connemara, Co.Galway,
    they lived Garraunbaun House (see search, think NOT Garranbaun), village of Garraunbaun, Moyard, 5 miles from Letterfrack, Connemara, a fine Georgian-style house (built 1852), walled garden, top of hill, lovely view looking out at Ballynakill Bay and the Twelve Pins,
    not to be confused with nearby smaller 19th cent "Garraunbaun Lodge",
    even after they left, they kept Garraunbaun House as a summer house, went back for years afterwards,
    from 1934/5 to 1942 he was doctor, living 5 Mt Pleasant Ave, Ballinasloe, E Co.Galway,

    from 1942 to c.1960 he was dispensary doctor, Ardnagreine (or Ardnagreina, or Ard na Greina), Castleknock, Co.Dublin, listed there in [Thom's, 1944], listed as "Medical Officer of Health",
    Pat researched her own family tree, her husband's, and even looked at her children's spouses, she made notes for a book on the whole family history, but never published, much of this material is included here,
    she wrote historical novel, Crumbling Castle, Clonmore and Reynolds, 1949, set in Cork starting with the Famine and ending with the Black and Tans,
    she deposited her papers in [NLI] 1957,
    living Castleknock as at mother's death 1958,
    living Castleknock as at 1960,
    they moved c.1960 to "Verona", Stillorgan Park Ave, Blackrock/Stillorgan, Co.Dublin, there as at 1961,
    she wrote biography of her father 1961, she wrote: "I am the story-teller; but I am also a daughter; and the living pulse of his vitality and humanity is bound to flood through these cold pages; for, though a soul may sleep in God, his memory is astir and waking in the hearts of his descendants",

    living "Verona" as at 1963,
    he died 5th May 1963, age 69 yrs, bur Glasnevin.
    she was living "Verona" as at 1965,
    she died Richmond Hospital, Dublin, 8th Apr 1966, age 67 yrs, bur Glasnevin,
    had issue:


    1. Ruaire Lavelle, mar Ena Kenny and had issue:
      1. John Lavelle, mar Ursula Barry and had issue:
        1. Ruaire Lavelle.
        2. Kevin Lavelle.
        3. Maeve Lavelle.
