Richard de Clare, 2nd Earl of Gloucester (see here),
born 1222, had issue:

1. Gilbert de Clare, "the Red", 3rd Earl of Gloucester, born 1243,
   mar Joan of Acre [dau of Edward I],
   built Caerphilly Castle, Wales, started 1268,
   built Morlais Castle, Wales, started c.1287,
   died 1295, age 52 yrs, see biography,
   having had issue:
   1. Eleanor de Clare, born 1292,
      mar Hugh le Despenser the younger and had issue.

   2. Margaret de Clare, born c.1293, mar Hugh de Audley and had issue.

   3. Elizabeth de Clare, born 1295,
      mar 1308 to John de Burgh, Earl of Ulster and had issue,
      mar 1315 to Theobald de Verdon, 2nd Baron Verdun and had issue,
      mar 1317 to Roger Damory, Baron d'Amory and had issue,
      founded Clare College, Cambridge, 1338.

   mar Juliane Fitzgerald and had issue:
   1. Maud de Clare, mar Robert de Clifford, 1st Baron Clifford and had issue.

   2. Margaret de Clare, mar Bartholemew de Badlesmere and had issue:
      1. Elizabeth de Badlesmere, mar William de Bohun, 1st Earl of Northampton and had issue.
      2. Maud de Badlesmere, mar John de Vere, 7th Earl of Oxford and had issue.
