Served in Australian army in WWI. Joined 1915 or 1916.
Sent back to Europe to fight.
He was badly shell-shocked.
He was
back in Ireland after the war.
Living at 55 Great Charles St, Dublin.
Next door to Jones family at 53 Great Charles St.
He knew the brothers James and John Jones as an engineer.
He did some work in
James' garage
while James' sister Pauline was working there.
He fell for Pauline.
[Thom's, 1919, p.1533]
shows "Mrs. Jones" at no. 53,
and nos. 54 to 57 are simply "Gardens"
with no named tenants.
He mar 27 Aug 1919, Dublin, to
Pauline Jones [born 27 June 1891].
He was Protestant. She was Catholic.
He is "soldier" on mar cert, living 55 Great Charles St.
He took her back to Australia in 1920. Apparently not 1919.
Lived 11 Croydon St, Subiaco, Perth, Western Australia.
There by 1925.

Pauline died late Aug 1957, Perth, age 66 yrs.
Dates of 27 or 28 or 29 Aug are given.
Within a day or two, her brother James died in Ireland.
Dick died 19 January 1962.
