Alexander Thomson,
mar 1stly, pre-1694, to Helen Gregory and had, with many other issue:
  1. Helen Thomson, bapt 23rd Sept 1700 [St.Nicholas', Aberdeen],
    mar 1721 to George Skene and had issue.
mar 2ndly, 8th Apr 1714 [St.Nicholas', Aberdeen] to Catherine Ædie [bapt 7th Jan 1680] and had issue:
  1. Alexander Thomson, bapt 9th Oct 1716 [St.Nicholas', Aberdeen].
she died 7th Sept 1738 [grave, St.Nicholas', Aberdeen] or 1739 [portrait], age 58 or 59 yrs.
Think they inherited "Provost Skene's House" from her father David Ædie,
since a "Mr. Thomson" was in residence when the house was occupied for 6 weeks in 1746 by the Duke of Cumberland (see here) on his way north to defeat Bonnie Prince Charlie's Highlanders at Culloden [Munro, 1886].
The house was known as "Cumberland's House" for some time after.
