2. Sir Michael O'Dwyer,
   Michael Francis O'Dwyer, born 28 Apr 1864, Barronstown.
   Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab 1913 to 1919.
   The Amritsar massacre was carried out by his men in 1919.
   He was assassinated by an Indian nationalist in London in 1940.

  • "Writing the Past: Tipperary History and Historians", by Denis G. Murnane, Tipperary Historical Journal, 1997, says that Dermot F. Gleeson's wife was "a niece of Sir Michael O'Dwyer".
  • O'Dwyer Clan event, 2000, says that Dermot Gleeson, of Ennis is Sir Michael O'Dwyer's grand-nephew.
