of Clonoughter, E of Glin, Co.Limerick.
He mar Ellen Fitzgerald.
They had issue:


  1. John Fitzgerald,
    mar Sally Clancy,
    had issue:

    1. Mary Fitzgerald, born 1808,
      mar Patrick McCoy and had issue.


  2. Michael Fitzgerald.
    He mar Mary McCoy.
    He died 1849.
    She died 1857.
    They had issue:


    1. John Fitzgerald,
      born 1824.
      Farmer, of Clonoughter.
      He mar Mary O'Donnell.
      He died 9 Jan 1878, age 54 yrs.
      They had issue:

      1. Bridget Fitzgerald,
        born Clonoughter, 19 May 1878 (after father's death).

        She was called "Getta", pronounced "Jetta" (from "Bridgetta"), NOT "Gretta".
        She was said to be the first woman in Ireland to hold a Bachelors degree in teaching, but she did not go to work as a teacher.
        At mar 1906 she is living at Glin.
        She mar 27 February 1906 (him age 47, her age 27) to Thomas Nolan [bapt 3 Dec 1858] and had issue.
        They mar at St.Francis Xavier's church, Upper Gardiner St, Dublin. See mar cert from here.
        The mar was wit by Patrick Nolan and Margaret Laffan.


    2. Mary Fitzgerald,
      born 1830 or 1831.
      She mar her 1st cousin Michael Fitzgerald and had issue.


  3. Maurice Fitzgerald.
    Descendants married into Mangan and McCoy families.
    Note that Annie Mangan's grave in Limerick is beside the grave of Fitzgerald of Killacolla.


  4. Patrick Fitzgerald,
    farmer,
    had issue:

    1. John Fitzgerald,
      John P. Fitzgerald,
      of Killacolla, Glin, Co.Limerick.
      He married 1870 to Agnes Nolan.
