Robert Blennerhassett, of Ballycarty, as an MP

Robert Blennerhassett, of Ballycarty, became one of the first two MPs for Tralee in 1613.
He was MP until at least 1614.
He served again as MP for Tralee from 1634 until 1639.




Robert Blennerhassett among the MPs for Co.Kerry returned for the 1613 Irish Parliament.

Robert Blennerhassett makes a complaint in the Irish House of Commons that a subpoena has been served on him out of the Star Chamber, which he says is an offence against the rules of the House.

Robert Blennerhassett's complaint is against an attorney, Samuel Raymont (or Raymond).
He got the House of Commons to investigate his complaint.

The House of Commons brought Samuel Raymont in and charged him with prosecuting Blennerhassett, which was judged to be an offence against the rules of the House.
They briefly jailed Raymont.
