born 1840,
of Barrow House, Co.Kerry.
See Wikitree.
He is listed as of Barrow at mar.
He mar 1866, Tralee, to his 3rd cousin Arabella Collis [bapt 21 Aug 1831].
His father sold Barrow House in 1870.
Thomas is listed as living Spa, Tralee, at dau's birth 1873.

Emigrated to New Zealand 1875:
Settled in New Zealand.
Lived from 1890 to death 1918 in Devonport, suburb of Auckland, New Zealand.
They lived Calliope Rd, Devonport.
Arabella's unmarried sister Frances lived with them.
Frances died at Calliope Rd, Devonport, on 8 May 1904.
She is buried at O'Neill's Point Cemetery in the same plot where William Francis Collis below was buried later in 1930.

Arabella died 1 Apr 1917, age 85 yrs.
She was bur at O'Neill's Point Cemetery, Bayswater, Auckland.
Thomas died at Calliope Rd, Devonport, 7 Sept 1918, age 78 yrs.
He was bur at O'Neill's Point Cemetery.
Thomas and Arabella had issue:


  1. John Collis,
    Jack, born 4 Dec 1867, Barrow House.

    Lived in area of North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand.
    At father's death 1918 he is listed as working in the Telegraph Department.
    He lived at 6 Mays St, Devonport, Auckland.
    He died at 6 Mays St, Devonport, 3 May 1931, age 63 yrs.
    He was bur at O'Neill's Point Cemetery. See findagrave.


  2. William Francis Collis,
    born 30 June 1870, Barrow House.

    School teacher in New Zealand.
    At father's death 1918 he is listed as school master.
    As at death 1930 he was living King Edward Ave, Takapuna, North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand.
    He died at King Edward Ave, Takapuna, 4 Nov 1930, age 60 yrs.
    He was bur at O'Neill's Point Cemetery. See findagrave.com.
    Funeral attended by Alexander Harris MP and Julius Williamson, Mayor of Takapuna.


  3. Kate Collis,
    born 6 Apr 1873, Spa, Tralee.

    At father's death 1918 she is alive, unmarried.
    Alive at brother's death 1931.
    She must be Kate Collis who died 19 Dec 1945, age 71, and is buried at Torbay cemetery, Torbay, Auckland.
