Tuohy (miscellaneous)

David Tuohy of Tralee (who married Hartnet)

Various trees on Ancestry have thought our David Tuohy could be this David Tuohy.
However, this seems impossible. Catherine here is too young to be our Kitty Tuohy.
A 13 year old would not be getting engaged to be married to a 23 year old.

Baptism of the twins Catherine and Mary Tuohy, Tralee, 12 June 1792.

Other Tuohy of Tralee

David Tuohy of Tralee, the slave trader

David Tuohy of Tralee, the slave trader, has a nephew David Tuohy and also apparently a nephew Edward Tuohy.
Given the family names, David Tuohy the slave trader might be brother of our Edward Tuohy of Tralee.

Tuohy in a Blennerhassett deed

The following John Tuohy is party to a deed with Blennerhassett in 1817.

Charles Tuohy, Bishop of Limerick

Basil O'Connell in letter of 21 July 1969 thinks our Tuohy family might be related to Charles Tuohy, Catholic Bishop of Limerick.
Not sure what his evidence is.
The Bishop's family starts with:

Darby Tuohy listed on p.18 of [Directory of Limerick, 1769].

A notice in the Limerick Chronicle, 31 Oct 1785.
"A parcel of fresh teas ... to be sold reasonable by wholesale or retail by William Herbert, in the house where Mr Derby Tuohy lives, in the Englishtown, Limerick."

Death of the widow of Darby Tuohy.
From Limerick Chronicle, Sat 28 Sept 1793.
