Mountcashel (area and titles)

In researching Miscellaneous Cashels we discover that there is a place called "Mountcashel" in Co.Clare, and also various "Mountcashel" titles.
It is unclear if any of this is relevant to our Cashel family.

The Mountcashel area, near Sixmilebridge, Co.Clare

There is an interesting area near Sixmilebridge, Co.Clare, with a lot of "cashel" placenames.
Now "Cashel" means "stone fort" so this might normally not be of interest.
Except we have a Cashell (or Cashel) family who possibly have their origin at Ballynevan in this area, or at Sixmilebridge. (This is however uncertain.)

In any case, in the Mountcashel area, near Sixmilebridge, Co.Clare, are the following:

The titles of "Mountcashel"

There are three "Mountcashel" titles.
All of them refer to Co.Tipperary, not Co.Clare.
No known origin with any Cashel/Cashell surname.
However, it is always possible that some descendant of these families might have such a surname (especially if a natural child).

Viscount Mountcashel (1689)

The title of MacCarthy, Viscount Mountcashel.

Viscount Mountcashel (1706)

The title of Davys, Viscount Mountcashel.

Viscount Mount Cashell (1766) and Earl Mount Cashell (1781)

The title of Moore, Earl Mount Cashell.
