Mother Francis Humphrys (Nora Humphrys),
Transferred to Australia (New South Wales) 1891.
She was a nun in the
Brigidine Convent,
in
Cowra, New South Wales, Australia.
This was
attached to a boarding school.
The convent and school at Cowra were founded in 1894.
Obituary says she was involved in the school at Cowra from 1894 to her final illness in 1918.
She was "mistress of primary schools".
Not to be confused with her niece Nora Humphrys (bapt 1892)
who also went to Australia some time after 1911 (but was not a nun).
See
letter to her from Nell after 1916 Rising.
Nell (her sister-in-law) tells Nora
the story of the Rising, and the death of Nell's brother.
She fell ill in Aug 1918, apparently with a stroke.
Spent last months in hospital.
She died Sat 8 Feb 1919, "St.Vincent's Hospital", age 54 yrs.
This must be
St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney.
Funeral Mon 10 Feb 1919.
She was bur "Mulyan cemetery", in or near Cowra.
It is unclear where this is.
There is a Mulyan St on the W side of Cowra.
See obituary dated 13 Feb 1919.
