O'Mara

Patrick O'Mara,
or O'Meara,
of Co.Limerick.
He mar (unnamed) O'Connell [daughter of Thomas O'Connell, MD] and had issue.
This is according to [Burkes Irish, 1976].
She would be Catholic.
We have not been able to identify either him or his wife.

Not relevant: Patrick O'Mara and Mary Connell

There is a Patrick O'Mara of Co.Limerick, with wife Connell (or O'Connell).
Except his wife is Mary. And we already have a daughter Mary, so this is not our family.
And in fact we see their marriage. This Mary is from Ballybricken, Co.Limerick.

Patrick O'Mara,
or Mara, or O'Meara.
Entries in various forms of the surname. We will standardise to O'Mara.
He mar 17 Feb 1806 to Mary Connell (or O'Connell).
They mar at Ballybricken and Bohermore RC parish, Co.Limerick. She is of Ballybricken at mar.
At son's bapt 1809 they are listed at Caherelly, Co.Limerick (Ballybricken and Bohermore RC parish, see map).
At children's bapts 1811-1827 they are in Bruff RC parish, a bit to the S or SW of Caherelly.
They had issue:

  1. John O'Mara,
bapt 24 May 1809, Ballybricken and Bohermore RC parish, Co.Limerick.

  2. Timothy O'Mara,
bapt 26 Sept 1811, Bruff RC parish, Co.Limerick.

Marriage of Patrick O'Mara and Mary Connell, 17 Feb 1806, Ballybricken and Bohermore RC parish, Co.Limerick.

John above is probably "John Connell O'Mara", eldest son of Patrick O'Mara, of Manus, co.Limerick, marrying in 1834 to Honora O'Brien.
"Manus" must be Meanus, Glenogra par, Co.Limerick (NW of Bruff, SW of Caherelly, see map).
From Kerry Evening Post, January 22, 1834.

Not relevant: Thomas O'Mara

There is an O'Mara family in Daniel O'Connell correspondence, but it seems not relevant to O'Mara above.
